SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 29 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Plenary Session of the La Orotava City Council has unanimously approved the temporary transfer of a property to the José Luis Montesinos Canary Islands Foundation. This property, which is located at number 20 Tomás Zerolo street, is intended for this non-profit organization so that it can continue and complete its solidarity and self-sustaining project ‘Securing opportunities’.
The José Luis Montesinos Canary Islands Foundation, within this social initiative, launched an ecological and sustainable solidarity garden last September to generate work and provide food to hundreds of families in precarious situations. And now it is complemented by the creation of a home in the Villa where socio-cultural revitalization projects can be carried out aimed at society in general and, in particular, at vulnerable young people in the municipality. Training actions will be focused on this space and work will be done to guarantee the future of the participants.
The Town Hall will sign an agreement with the José Luis Montesinos Canary Islands Foundation, chaired by Lalo Martín, for the transfer of the property, which will have to be adapted to develop its objectives, but it is expected to be launched throughout this year.
The José Luis Montesinos Canary Islands Foundation allocates all its efforts, actions and resources to normalize the lives of people with health problems, disabilities or marginalization, especially through their social and labor inclusion, so that they can enjoy their basic rights. For this reason, they carry out an extensive program of activities and solidarity actions.
