Canarian Coalition (CC) announced today, Saturday, its “firm and clear” commitment to the present and future of the South of Tenerife to carry out a series of infrastructures and actions in employmenthealth and social welfare with the aim of revitalizing this area and recovering its leading role in the development of the island after four years of “abandonment and neglect” by the PSOE in the Cabildo de Tenerife and in the Government of the Canary Islands. This announcement was made within the framework of a pre-campaign political act for the next municipal electionsinsular and autonomous of next May 28.

Thus, in an act held in the municipality of Arona, and where all the candidates and candidates for mayoralty in the South of Tenerife together with Fernando ClavijoFrancisco Linares, Rosa Dávila and Ana Oramasthe nationalists proposed promoting an “authentic and complete” Hospital del Sur of the first level like the HUC or La Candelaria, providing it with all the services and responding to more than 200,000 people and to reduce the surgical waiting lists that affect the island.

Also the necessary works (such as the burying of Chayofita avenue) to solve the collapse suffered by the port of Los Cristianos, the promotion of the Tren del Sur, the activation of employment plans because the island continues to destroy jobs, the recovery of the Ansina programme, the start-up of 665 socio-sanitary places for the elderly and people with disabilities, in addition to promoting the new terminal of the Tenerife South Airport that is in accordance with the category of tourist destination that Tenerife is worldwide.

The candidate for the Presidency of Canary IslandsFernando Clavijo, stressed that the party’s commitments are clear: “We are not selling smoke. We are not promising to solve everything with a magic wand, but we do know how to manage and we know that it is difficult to solve problems, but if you don’t work, if you don’t It is committed and if you do not have a great team of men and women, the problems are not solved. That is the main bet of CC: a team of committed women and men, united by a common objective, which is that Tenerife and the Canary Islands move forward “.

Elections 2023 in the Canary Islands: when are they?

Elections 2023 in the Canary Islands: when are they?

“We want Tenerife and the Canary Islands to have a future, development, health, education and quality employment and not to what the PSOE is used to, with hourly or permanent discontinuous contracts, that in the end people are not on any list and do not have right to nothing. That is the main commitment that we offer from the Canary Coalition,” he asserted.

“We are going to solve the problem of the port of Los Cristianos and we will fight with Madrid. And that neither the current Arona City Council, nor the Cabildo, nor the Government of the Canary Islands have been able to put a single proposal on the table and, what It’s worse, they have removed the work that was already done. Why? Because it was from the Canary Coalition. Four years later, the problem continues. There were projects, ideas and money and simply because CC did it, you have to throw it away” Clavijo added.

For her part, the Canary Islands Coalition candidate for the Tenerife Council, Rosa Dávila, assured that Tenerife cannot continue to “lose leadership, that there are no public works initiatives, that there are no solutions for the elderly, that they have abandoned the primary sector and the economic sectors; that Health is complete chaos and that the only thing in which it seems that we are leaders is the waiting lists and the unemployment figures. So there is no future”.

The nationalist candidate denounced, in health matters, that the socialists “have had 1,000 million euros more in the budget and what the bad results have grown. The data are evident and in Tenerife they are discouraging. The waiting lists do not decrease, but they have a tendency to increase. The prevention system of Primary Care is not being strengthened. And no socio-sanitary place has been built,” he asserted.

The list head to Parliament of the Canary Islands for the island of Tenerife, Ana Oramas, assured during her speech that citizens “are not statistical data, they are people, with faces, with problems that others do not listen to or act on as in employment and housing”.

Oramas highlighted that ten years ago they obtained a Tourist Infrastructure Plan to regenerate deteriorated areas in the Canary Islands. “They were 40 million euros per year and when Rajoy’s PP arrived, with an absolute majority and a Canarian Minister of Tourism, they took it out on them. When they lost the absolute majority, we put it back and that Plan was very important for the Canary Islands and, especially , for Tenerife. Not only did it fix the deteriorated tourist areas, but it gave a lot of employment to small Canarian companies, with more than 3,000 people working. And four years ago, when Pedro Sánchez arrived, they loaded it up again,” he lamented.
