The square of the Candelaria of Santa Cruz hosted last night the Gala for the Election of the Queen of the May Festivities. A show that included the performance of the Spanish representative in Eurovision, White Dovein what was their last performance before leaving for Liverpool, where the festival will be held from May 9.
The singer arrived on the Island yesterday morning, and at four in the afternoon, her followers were able to see her in the Plaza de la Candelaria testing the sound of the Gala in which, hours later, she was one of the protagonists along with the 35 candidates who aspired to the crown of Queen of the May Festival.
The show, directed by Javier Caraballero, began at nine o’clock at night, led by Elvis Sanfiel, who acted as master of ceremonies, in a space that seemed completely full.
The 35 candidates paraded dressed in typical Canarian costume in a gala with an expected duration of two hours and a quarter, and in which Chago Melián, Efecto Pasillo, Nauzet, Belinda Falcón, Virginia Guantanamera and the Canarian comedian Darío López also participated.
Today will be the turn for the little ones, with the Children’s Magician and Magician Election Gala, in which 15 minors participate, 10 girls and 5 boys, and which will begin at seven in the afternoon on the same stage in the square from La Candelaria with a show conducted by the company Timaginas Teatro, and which will include performances by the folkloric group Achimagec and Mario Falero.
