The Highway area of the Cabildo de Tenerife has on public display the projects of work to rehabilitate the firm of the Southern Highway (TF-1) in both directions between the Valle de Güímar Industrial Estate (almost at the height of Montaña Grande) and the Jardín del Atlántico urbanization, in Arico. Specific, It will benefit four sections of the layout between kilometer points 20.4 and 44.7 of this general interest highway.
The 25.4 kilometers covered by this action run through the municipalities of Güímar, Fasnia and Arico. Once the 20-day period has elapsed from the publication of the projects in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP), they will be considered definitively approved and the Cabildo will start the procedures to bid for their execution, according to the insular Government.
The first of the projects of this work contemplates the improvement of the road existing between kilometer points 37.9 and 44.7 of the TF-1, located between Porís de Abona and the Jardín del Atlántico Urbanization, on Arico soil. For these 6.8 kilometers of intervention, Carreteras has a budget of 8.89 million euros and establishes an execution period of nine months.
The second project consists of the rehabilitation 5.9 kilometers of the TF-1 located between points 32.3 and 38.2, located at the height of the Playa del Abrigo (Fasnia) and Tabaibal del Porís, respectively (Arico). In this case, the action will have a budget of 8.56 million euros and a period of six months to carry it out.
The third initiative is endowed with 8.79 million euros and also has an execution period of six months. It covers kilometer points between 26.345 and 32.3, located between the height of La Caleta (Güímar) and Playa del Abrigo (Fasnia).
The fourth of the projects for the rehabilitation of the surface of the Autopista del Sur is planned to be carried out between the Valle de Güímar Industrial Estate (at the height of the Camino del Socorro pass) and Punta Prieta, between kilometer points 20.4 and 27, 1. The budget will be 9.67 million euros and the execution period will be six months.
These actions, which add up to a budget of more than 35.9 million, will solve the effects of the progressive deterioration registered by the pavement of the TF-1 on this route and will help to improve both user safety and comfort.
