Salvamento y Socorrismo has two rhino-type electric vehicles that will facilitate the mobility of service personnel and enable faster and more efficient interventions in the event of any incident. A measure that acquires more value for the next summer season, where the influx of users to the beaches of the municipality increases exponentially with the arrival of national and international tourism.
The Salvage service counts on Arona with a template 17 permanent lifeguards during the year, which is reinforced in July and August with six troops to a total of 23. This makes it possible to attend to the aforementioned increase in influx and, also, to carry out the adapted bathroom service during that period on the beaches of Los Cristianos and Las Galletas, a service which is permanent in the case of Playa de Las Vistas.
During last year, the coastline of Arona incorporates structures and resources, such as the improvement of the Rescue modules, a 60-square-meter pergola to create a shaded area and its corresponding wooden walkway, in addition to the new public toilets, in Los Cristianos; in Playa Honda, public toilets and showers that join the lifeguard service, with two troops every day of the year.
Four webcams form a complementary endowment in Playa Honda, El Camisón, Las Vistas and Los Cristianos, through which to verify the state of the beaches, the weather, waves, as well as the influx to them. In addition, they have renewed and increased the vehicles for cleaning and conditioning the sand, with an investment of 400,000 euros. The Arona coastline management concession company has five vehicles that carry out in-depth screening with high performance, as they improve the collection and cleaning method, leaving the beaches in the best possible conditions.
