The books have filled the orotava of culture, leisure and education for three days, on the occasion of the XIX edition of the Book Fair. The Constitution Plaza, also known as Plaza del Quiosco, hosted an exhibition that, according to the local government (CC), has become “an attraction for lovers of literature and the general public”. Throughout these three days it had the participation of bookstores on the island that offered discounts on the direct sale of books, such as The Salesman; The education; agapea; Evangelical Bookstore; Techy Bookstore, from La Laguna; Ofra Bookstore, of Santa Cruz, and Tales in the Headfrom Tacoronte.
This annual appointment with books also had the participation of Cristina Garcia Carballothe Orotava Canary Islands Science Foundation (fundoro), the Pinolere Cultural Association, Nakama Geek World, Editorial Ida y Vuelta, and Editorial Zech. In addition, multiple recreational and cultural activities were organized such as thematic night routes through the historic center, which allowed attendees to learn more about the history of the municipal cemetery of La Orotavaguided by jose maza on the occasion of the first two centuries of history of this cemetery, or visit different and picturesque corners of the urban center, under the title La Orotava through literature. Book presentations were also made by the authors themselves, counting among others with the assistance of Pilar Torres, Yeroboam Perdomo, Domingo Garí, Yanira Montañez, Sonia Cruz, Julio Domínguez Expósito and Natalia González.
Among the most innovative activities, the tasting workshop stood out What book do I drink? which consisted of a pairing of historical books with Tenerife wines. There was also time for music, with the concerts by the Nova Voce Gospel Choir, the didactic performance by the timplist left peterthe always lively intervention of the 101 Brass Band and the musical evening of Canarian texts and compositions from universal literature with Clavinova. While for the little ones workshops such as crafts were offered altered books, in charge of La Ranilla Artisan Space; a child and family storytelling session led by Ana Tovarand the music of Guicho Estevez and his show Singing Tales.

Within the framework of the fair, through which they passed hundreds of people every daythe prizes of the X Rafael Arozarena Literary Micro-stories Contest; of the XIII Armando San Juan Micro-stories Literary Contest and of the Hyperbrief Story Contestorganized by the Town Hall itself
As a complementary activity, the Villa’s shop windows show the works submitted to the contest until May 7 Bookface, organized by the Youth area. The Municipal Library hosted last week Des-Landscapesa photo-book and a photo-poetic recital of 21 pairs by Manolo Garcia and Imeldo Lopez. And this space also exhibits, until May 5, the exhibition of Domingo Lima Dominguez pencil, prose and verse.
