The National Police detains a man for a false bomb threat at the Tenerife North airport

The National Police have arrested a 43-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of public disorder after notifying the 091 Room of the planting of a bomb at Los Rodeos airport, which disrupted airport service.

The events occurred last Holy Thursday when the National Police received an anonymous notice about the placement of an explosive device at the Tenerife North airport.

For this reason, agents went to the place, after adopting the necessary security measures, to verify the veracity of the threat, which turned out to be false, for which reason the airport service was restored to normality after the intervention of the National Police.

After being identified, the 43-year-old man was arrested in Santa Cruz de Tenerife by agents of the National Police and placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.

The National Police recalls in a note that the false statement about the placement of an explosive device, which causes the mobilization of emergency services, is a crime of public disorder that can be punished with prison terms of three months and one day up to one year.
