He Las Mesas Parkin Santa Cruz of Tenerife, was reopened to the public at the end of last year after 15 years closed. The work, carried out by the Cabildo, was handed over to the capital city council, which is in charge of its management, but only a few months later the uncivil behaviors are more than evident in its access area.

Joaquin Philip is a user of Twitter that he wanted to share his concern with the state of these accesses, full of dirt: “This is the current situation and for quite some time of the sidings of the access road to the Parque de las Mesas in the municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, I spend every day doing sports or walking my dog and I really find it unfortunate that people give free rein to their physiological needs and are not able to collect their waste, especially having some containers to deposit it at the exit of this road ”, we should all collaborate in not dirtying our land and we should take some measure so that this situation can be fixed”.

The photographs with which he accompanies his complaint are more than evident, a large amount of garbage of all kinds accumulates at the accesses to the Las Mesas park, for which this citizen calls for greater civility and greater vigilance to avoid this behavior.

Las Mesas park, 15 years later

In November 2022, Las Mesas park was reopened as the only recreational area in Santa Cruz de Tenerife where you can make chops, while enjoying one of the best views of the city.

With a schedule from 08:00 to 19:00 in winter and closing at 21:00 in summer, residents can enjoy a recreational area open to the public, a large children’s area, preferential reserved spaces for people with disabilities, an area equipped to enjoy in the nature, and even a small zip line in the children’s play area.

The use of sound equipment with amplification is prohibited, it will not even be allowed to enter the park, while the noise emission may not exceed eight decibels.

The use of portable barbecues is also prohibited, as is carrying water outside the premises. Horses or motor vehicles and bicycles may not transit through the area of stoves or games.

To guarantee security in the Las Mesas park, the Forestry Unit, the Local Police and Parks and Gardens personnel will be present in the area to guarantee that no acts of vandalism are committed, for which, the City Council recalls, they can impose fines of more than 200 euros.
