The Local Group of the Socialist Party in Candelaria, led by Mari Brito, presented this Friday the electoral list with which they will contest the municipal elections on May 28, 2023 from the Punta Larga Shopping Center square, packed with socialist sympathizers, even neighbors well-known ‘popular’ tendency.

Mari Brito’s list is continuous, with only one change in the first eleven positions -the councilors she has now and give her the absolute majority- the entry of Mónica Yanes for Cecilia Otazo, as well as the move from number 11 to number 5 of Reinaldo Trevino.

Brito boasted of management, despite two years of pandemic and the war in Ukraine. / FP

“If the municipality decides so, I will continue to lead the team of councilors who have been by my side these last terms, because they are the ideal people to ensure all the projects that we are managing and that are forging the future of our beloved municipality. , with the same calm, closeness and knowledge of the public that we have shown up to now and the guarantee of being the responsible, honest team with the most experience to manage a city of more than 30,000 inhabitants”, highlighted Mari Brito during her speech, where he also revealed his illusion and deep commitment to the people.

The candidacy presentation act had the support of the militancy and supporters. Brito and his team had the support of the Secretary of Organization and campaign coordinator of the PSOE Canarias, Nira Fierro, and Aaron Afonso, deputy secretary of the PSOE de Tenerife, who highlighted their great experience in management and their closeness to the residents of the municipality, in addition to messages of support from the regional and island presidents, Ángel Víctor Torres and Pedro Martín, as well as the mayor of Vigo and president of the FEMP, Abel Caballero.

The oldest mayor of the Socialist group, since 1987, Paco Pinto, was in charge of presenting Mari Brito, of whom he said that “she was like God, she is everywhere, she has the gift of ubiquity.”

The candidate invited the public to support her team once again: “to finish off the projects started and always show your face by talking face to face; to sit down with the political companions of the Canary Islands and Madrid and that they invest in our municipality, but also to attend to each neighbor on the street or in the Town Hall, which is everyone’s home; to give security to companies, investments and initiatives that want to bring employment; to lead an institution with hundreds of workers committed to public service; to improve people’s lives.”

Mari Brito was moved, recalling all the support she has had in her political and personal career -she has been mayor since 2015- and had special words for her parents, her brothers, her nieces and above all for her husband, Cris, “the love of my life, together with Candelaria”, he blurted out to applause from the attendees.
