The best rural postman in Spain is José Castilla Darias, a resident registered in Radazul who works in Lomo Pelado and Las Rosas. This is attested to by the award granted by the State Postal and Telegraph Society, which chose him among almost 6,000 rural postmen from all over the country. The mayor of The rosary, Escolástico Gil, received it this Tuesday, in the company of the first deputy mayor, Fátima Gutiérrez. “We are proud to have the best rural postman in Spain in the municipality, which demonstrates the good service provided in the two Post Offices, the one in La Esperanza, but also the one in Radazul,” said the councilor.

José Castilla has spent twelve years in Mail and emphasizes that its work has turned it into “a mobile post office, which makes life easier for people in rural areas, many of them older, for things like collecting water or electricity bills, even dealings with banks.”

The rural postal service, in addition to sending ordinary, certified or urgent letters, allows other operations such as the sale of packaging and stamps, parcel delivery, collection of receipts or the sale of labels from the DGT. The rural delivery staff is made up of some 6,000 postmen, who offer home delivery services thanks to their portable devices.
