Salvador Domínguez from Tenerife presents the pictorial exhibition ‘A deconstructed view of Africa’ at the Casa del Vino de El Sauzal


The plastic artist from Tenerife Salvador Domínguez opens this Friday, April 14, 2023, starting at 6:30 p.m., his pictorial exhibition entitled Una mdeconstructed irada of africa which can be enjoyed from tomorrow and for two weeks in the Casa del Vino museum room, an installation managed by the Cabildo de Tenerife in the northern municipality of El Sauzal.

In the selection of paintings offered by Domínguez, grouped under the title Una mirada deconstructed Of Africa, This plastic creator, as he himself indicates, has focused “his attention on African art and its most tangible aesthetic representations: masks, figures, figurines…”



The painter from Tenerife maintains that in this exhibition “the concerns that the study of the avant-garde movements of the early 20th century arouse in me and, in turn, their connection with African art” come together.

Salvador Domínguez also highlights that his plastic work captures “the social and cultural environment through the forms and the identifying color of the ethnic groups or the natural environment in which they inhabit, highlighting the colors ocher, yellow, old gold, saffron, olive green …”



The painter born in Tenerife works his paintings on canvas and board, with oil paints, in light degradation or with direct impastos.

Tomorrow’s opening ceremony will consist of a welcome, a musical intervention with percussion and songs, by the Guimanan Africa Association, in a first pass; with the presentation of the selection of paintings by the artist, and then with a second musical contribution. Then, the visit to the exhibition will take place.
