The Santa Cruz City Council has approved the tender for the drafting of the rehabilitation project of the 381 Añaza houses who have raised more than ten million Next Generation funds. Energy efficiency is the fundamental objective of the reform of these buildings, an intervention that will benefit more than a thousand residents.

Yesterday, the mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, together with the Councilor for Housing, Juan José Martínez, met with a representation of the residents to explain the point at which the project is located.

As detailed by the councilor, the actions have been divided into four lots, with investments of more than two million in each of them. Thus, in Lot 1, action will be taken in 92 homes; in Lot 2, there will be 97; in Lot 3, another 92, and in Lot 4, one hundred.

The residents of the four plots of Añaza They will be the beneficiaries of a project with a budget of more than 12 million euros, which aims not only to rehabilitate the four plots and common areas, but also to improve the accessibility and sustainability conditions of the buildings.

The schedule managed by the City Council places the bidding for the work after the summer; before, the architects who are winners of the drafting of the project will meet with the neighbors to know their opinion.

Martínez explained that the works to be carried out, without European funds, would have a cost for each neighbor of more than 30,000 euros, while in this way “they will have to contribute less than 1,500 euros, and those who cannot cope with That number will have the help of the IMAS to do it”.

The main intervention has to do with “the placement of solar panels, which will make it possible to have a centralized system for hot water, which will not only make buildings more efficient, but also residents will be able to reduce their electricity bills,” Juan explained. Jose Martinez.
