
The group of Canarian Coalition in the Town Hall of Tenerife has requested all the contracts of the Isla Baja Consortium (Buenavista del Norte, Garachico, Los Silos and El Tanque) to “study whether there have been irregularities in the awarding of them,” according to the party in a statement. The nationalist formation points out that «there is information that points to possible irregularities when awarding contracts» and that point out «a PSOE plot to benefit the candidacy of the current counselor of Employment, Socioeconomic Development and Foreign Action, Carmen Luz Baso, to the Mayor of Los Silos». The Canary Coalition recalls in the press release that “the president of the Isla Baja Consortium, José Gregorio Pérez, is Baso’s partner and was appointed by Pedro Martín in August 2020 for the aforementioned position.”
CC demands “transparency” and points out that “each formation policy It is free to designate its candidates, but if public money from the Isla Baja Consortium has been used to benefit certain people from the PSOE, it is very serious. «Does Pedro Martín know what is happening? We want to have all the information and that there is maximum transparency,” the coalition members point out. Apparently, and according to the information mentioned by the political formation, “some of the beneficiaries of the contracts awarded by the Isla Baja Consortium are affiliated with the PSOE and others recently affiliated with the Los Silos group, with which they will form part of the people in charge of choosing the candidate for mayor.
The group has also requested the Detailed list of the agreements, collaboration agreements and documents of any other nature signed by the Isla Baja Consortium with the different areas of the Cabildo, its foundations, investee companies and entities, as well as those carried out with other public administrations of an insular, regional and national nature.
