It is the decision adopted yesterday by the Local Security Board, which met on an extraordinary basis at the request of the mayor, Adolfo gonzalez (PP), “given the concern about the recent fire outbreaks that have occurred in the municipality, specifically in various points of Icod el Alto in the early hours of last Wednesday, March 29 and Friday, March 31, and the difficult situation experienced as a result of the fire forestry last summer,” stressed the royal councilor.
During the meeting, the reinforcement with more personnel and means was agreed, starting in the middle of this month, by the Cabildo de Tenerife and Brifor for cleaning, clearing and fine-tuning of the different forest tracks and paths in the midlands and Icod el Alto areas. In addition, a greater police presence was also agreed.
The mayor of Los Realejos explained in this regard that a request will be sent to the sub-delegation of the central government in the province for the placement of aa network of cameras to monitor traffic on the access roads to the highlands of Icod el Alto and Corona Forestal. Los Realejos City Council will make this request, after consulting the National Police Corps and the Civil Guard.

The National Police Force, represented at the meeting by the provincial chief commissioner, Luis Felipe San Martín, emphasized “the importance of neighborhood collaboration” both for the work of detecting attempts and for the transmission of as much information as possible. be of interest in the proceedings opened for the investigation of these attempts that have occurred in recent years.
