The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has confirmed the theme of the next Carnival, ‘Television’, the option that has had the greatest support in a popular survey, with 2,313 votes, 31% of the total.
In the online voting, which began on March 27 and ended on Monday, ‘Japan’ came in second place, with a support of 2,267 votes, ahead of ‘Classical Greece’ and Antarctica’, with a support of 2,184. and 701 votes, respectively.
The Councilor for Festivals of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, Alfonso Cabello, thanks in a statement “the complicity and carnival commitment” of all the people who participated in the survey.
To avoid duplicate votes, the voting system has been applied through a single IP address. In total, 7,465 valid votes have been computed.
The 2024 Carnival will begin on January 12 with the presentation of candidates.
The child queen will be known on Sunday, January 28.
The carnival queen election gala will be held on Wednesday, February 7, and the celebrations in the streets of Santa Cruz will continue until February 18, Piñata Sunday.
