The acapulco beachin it Valleseco coastline, will continue to allow access for dogs. Following the announcement last week of the Platform for the Defense of Valleseco Beachthat him City hall suspended the decree that authorized the presence of dogs, yesterday, the Environment Area, directed by Carlos Tarife, clarified that what will be done by the Consistory will be to reinforce the signage on the beach so that pet owners keep them on a leash at all times, with the exception of the moment of the bath, when they will be able to release them, to hold them again when they return to the arena.

In addition, it was announced that there will be a second beach for dogs in the capital, in this case in Las Gaviotas. “We are going to improve the signage in Valleseco to warn users that dogs have to be on a leash at all times, except when they go to bathe. In addition, we are preparing a technical project for a second dog beach in Las Gaviotas, where we intend to have a limited part to be with the dogs and another in which not, “explained Tarife.

The also mayor of Public Services also wants all the residents of Santa Cruz to have an opinion on these new spaces. “Both issues, the dog beach format in Valleseco and Las Gaviotas, I am going to submit to a participatory process, where we explain to people how and where it is going to be done. What we are not going to consult is if there are beaches for dogs or not, because from the Consistory we understand that we have to bet on dogs on the beaches, tied up and complying with the municipal ordinance, with limited areas for them, as is already the case in the parks ”. .

Tarife qualifies that this referendum is included in the citizen participation regulation, which came into force a few months ago, and that the Environment wants to take advantage of this tool to press the opinion of the residents. “All the residents of Santa Cruz have to have an opinion, not just a part,” insisted the mayor, who added that “it is a consultation from the web about how and where, we are not going to discuss whether or not it has a beach dogs,” he said.

The mayor of the Environment trusts that all the residents of Santa Cruz can contribute their opinion on how to carry out the delimitation of the spaces on the beaches that will allow the presence of pets. Tarife insisted that he does not want this to be a controversial issue, and he does want participation open to all citizens.

Theresitas
Las Teresitas beach has always been the main proposal for pet owners and different groups as a point to set up an area for dogs. However, as the mayor of the Environment advanced, there are technical problems that prevent this solution.

“They are going to prepare a technical report on this matter, but the technicians have told me that the recommendation is not to do it, because the renewal of the water in Las Teresitas, due to the dam, is not continuous, it is a beach that does not have waves, so the presence of dogs on that beach is not recommended”, concluded Carlos Tarife.
