The autonomous body of Social Services emphasizes that this is a response “to a demand” made “for years and aggravated by the impact of the covid on the lives of the elderly in Arona.”
This service is added to other improvements in the area of the Elderly, Dependency and Disability of the Social Services Board, which has increased the Home Help staff in recent months, thus being able to meet the demand and serve more families in need of the service. In addition, procedures have been streamlined to resolve dependency requests that are sent to the Government of the Canary Islands, through the collaboration of technical staff from Social Services in the preparation of social reports. Likewise, a space was set up in the Buzanada Senior Center for use as a day center for people with Parkinson’s disease, which is managed by Parkinson’s Tenerife therapists.
