35 European countries will discuss the future of hospitality in the Union

At the end of this month, Adeje will bring together a hundred European hospitality and tourism representatives from 35 countries, who will reflect on the future of the sector in the European Union. Professionals from hotels, restaurants, bars, cafes and similar establishments on the continent They will meet from 26 to 28 to celebrate the 86th general assembly of their employers, Hotrec (Hotels, restaurants & cafes in Europe), a business conclave that will be held at the GF Victoria hotel.

Tenerife was the destination chosen last October in Stockholm as the venue for this European hospitality assembly, which has Ashotel as the host association, in addition to the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodations (Cehat) and Hospitality of Spain as co-organizers .

The president of the Hotel and Non-Hotel Association of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Ashotel) and Cehat, Jorge Marichal; the mayor of Adeje, José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga; and the president of the Cabildo, Pedro Martín presented this meeting yesterday. The insular and municipal corporations appear as collaborators in this business event, which places Adeje as a top-level destination in Europe. The island director and the mayor of Tourism, Laura Castro and Adolfo Alonso, respectively, also attended. The presidents of Hotrec, Alexandros Vassilikos, and of Hospitality of Spain, José Luis Yzuel, intervened with the projection of two video messages during the presentation ceremony.

Jorge Marichal recalled that the hospitality activity in Spain “is a fundamental pillar of our economy and part of our DNA, so it is a great satisfaction for us to become a meeting point for the sector at a European level.” In addition, Marichal pointed out that “until now, Spain and Canary Islands they have been eminently tourist receiving destinations, a perfect opportunity to tell Hotrec representatives from eminently emitting countries how we are as a destination.”
