Rosa Dávila (CC) proposes an aid plan for families with special needs

The candidate of Canarian Coalition (DC) to the presidency of the Cabildo de TenerifeRosa Dávila, will develop an aid plan, endowed with two million euros a year, for families with people in need educational support, mental health or functional diversity. “Not only is it necessary to build more places in residences for dependents and with disabilities, but it is also necessary to help families with the most difficulties and those most affected by the crisis. That will be one of the priorities.”. Davila pointed out.

This is one of the 200 measures that Rosa Dávila proposes in her government program to care for the people and recover the leadership of Tenerife. The document is open to the public, who can make contributions through the website https://rosadavila.com.

In terms of mental health, it contemplates promoting the adoption of measures that allow increasing preventive actions, something essential. To this end, he defended that working in coordination with the Government of the Canary Islands it is necessary to make the mental health plan effective. But for this it is necessary to increase financing and improve the training of healthcare professionals at all levels, assured Rosa Dávila.

It advances its purpose of working on preventive mental health measures aimed at both families and teachers, children and adolescents. «It is necessary to educate in the management of emotions, carry out an early diagnosis of problems and train teachers and educators and counsellors».

The nationalist candidate points out that the Cabildo will adopt training, protocolization and coordination measures between Mental Health and Primary Care, Social Services and the educational system. “We will seek actions that allow the joint intervention of the health and education systems in the school environment, as support for teacher training for the management of cases with psychological and behavioral problems, as well as serious mental health disorders,” she explained. .

For Dávila, it is necessary to have a communication project aimed at the population to give visibility and eliminate the stigma of mental health problems and encourage the participation of users in the design and planning of mental health social and health services.
