The ‘Gymnasium of Tenerife’ celebrates 15 years between health and sport

The Sports Complex of Tenerife Santa Cruz-Ofra celebrates its 15 years between health and sport. The center, located in the surroundings of the Casa Cuna chicharrera, has hosted 4.5 million sports uses, and 300 events. More than 7,500 people have attended organized tennis, paddle tennis, swimming or oriental dance courses. Their 4,051 current users will live a special day on the 11th on the occasion of the ephemeris.

The Councilor for Sports of the Cabildo, Concepción Rivero, highlights the relevance of this public facility with users of all ages driven by regular physical activity.

On Tuesday the 11th, after Easter, a special sports day will be held with an offer of 1,300 places throughout the day for activities such as master classes in bodystep, bodycombat, core, gymnastics, aerodancing, body balance, as well as yoga. and express classes of 30 minutes of fitball or cycling. In the pool there will be an initiation day to water polo for the students of the Swimming School organized in collaboration with the Canarian Federation.

Over the years, the center has hosted competitions in swimming, water polo, rescue and lifesaving, synchronized swimming, basketball, volleyball, badminton, paddle tennis, tennis or duathlon. It has also hosted events aimed at people with disabilities,

The Santa Cruz-Ofra Complex has 14,000 square meters, free parking and 220 weekly hours of directed activities. It has cardio and fitness rooms, and an indoor pool. The Tenerife Gymnasium is in good health today.
