Thousands of people gather in a hot Full Moon

The heat that refuses to leave the Islands yesterday allowed the thousands of people who attended Full Moon Santa Cruz, they could enjoy a real summer day. Undoubtedly, once again this year, the García Sanabria park, where you can still enjoy the Le Good Market gastronomic initiative, was one of the places with the greatest influx of people, as was the Plaza de la Candelaria, where Stir, ended the day with a concert that packed the square and its surroundings. The Beer Festival in Alameda del Duque Santa Elena also helped the area overflow with people.

The streets of the city were filled during the day with families, but also with many tourists who were encouraged to enjoy the activity of the city. Already during the evening, the public moved to the stages to enjoy the different musical offerings.

The pop-rock group Revólver and the old school label The Rave Kulture, led by DJ Jonay, starred in the musical program in a day in which 90 activities took place in 17 locations from 11:00 to 22:00.

Before Carlos Goñi and his band took to the stage in the Plaza de La Candelaria, Delokos, Última Llave and DJ Adam Lord also passed, while in another of the locations set up for musical performances, the Plaza del Chicharro , between one in the afternoon and twelve at night, all kinds of styles played, from rock to blues through swing, Latin, funk or Cuban son”.

Regarding DJ Jonay, he celebrated his 30-year career on the stage of Anaga Avenue on Saturday afternoon along with other components of The Rave Kulture label, such as Beat Creator, Kruger, DJ Avero or DJ Roger.

Beyond music, Plenilunio had two markets with gastronomy, crafts and other local products. Thus, in addition to Le Good Market, it was also possible to enjoy the Mercadillo del Atlántico, in the Plaza de España, which can also be visited today.

The Plaza del Príncipe hosted the children’s activities, which could also be enjoyed in the Plaza del Chicharro and the Casa del Carnaval. Regarding cultural programming, it was possible to attend the Museum of Nature and Archeology, the Almeyda Historical and Military Museum, the TEA, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Casa del Carnaval itself, as well as the General Headquarters of the Canary Islands Command, the Guimerá Theater and Espacio R – La Recova Art Center.

The Nuestra Señora de África Market, as usual, also joined the Plenilunio offer and opened its doors from seven in the evening, with musical performances, and also with a different gastronomic offer.

All these activities were seasoned by different parades in the streets of the center, with batucadas and animated figures that delighted the little ones from ten in the morning until seven in the evening.

Plenilunio began on Friday, with the Beer Festival, which can also be visited today until eight in the afternoon in the Alameda del Duque Santa Elena. A day that ended with the concert by Café Quijano, which brought together thousands of people in the Plaza de La Candelaria.

Last day of Full Moon

For today, Sunday, Le Good Market in the García Sanabria park, the children’s area in the Plaza del Príncipe, the market and the toy library in the Plaza de España and the activities and exhibitions on the esplanade of Anaga avenue will continue with their activities. Likewise, on the Avenida Marítimo stage there will be cockfights starting at 3:00 p.m., to later give way to the performance of Aarón Gómez and friends, at 5:00 p.m.

The exhibitions of the Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Nature and Archeology, the exhibitions and the cinematographic projection of the TEA and the activities of the Casa del Carnaval are also maintained.
