The insular management of the Valle Colino Hostel remains in limbo

The political groups in the Cabildo de Tenerife agree on the need to improve the facilities of the Valle Colino County Shelter, but they are not able to agree on how. An original motion of the Mixed Group (Cs) in plenary session resulted in four amendments. All five were voted on and none were approved.

The arithmetic gibberish was the result of the discussion in the argumentation even if there were only slight nuances. The Cabildo must collaborate, support or lead, depending on the optics, the four municipalities that participate in the management of the animal shelter: Santa Cruz, La Laguna, El Rosario and Tegueste. Different positions more in form than in substance.

There is controversy about the economic injection necessary to expand or reform the facility. Criticism of the “lack of leadership” of the Tenerife capital on an ideological basis also influences. Thirdly, the different visions of animal welfare, including the perspective of the new law. They all voted against all.

The initial proposal of citizens received 13 votes in favor to 18 against. Same result obtained self-amendment. The modification of Yes We Can Canary Islands and of Canarian Coalition to the totality they did not come out by the minimum (15-16). Finally, the non-attached director, María José Belda, only voted for herself with two abstentions and 27 “noes”.

Belda starred in another two moments of the session. First, in the provisional approval of the Hydrological Plan, by reading a text by retired professor Julio Muñiz Padilla in defense of the public use of water; then, when he said that talking about the galleries was equivalent to “ending up in a ditch.”

Surreal was the debate on the motion to “urge the State Government to carry out a pension reform based on intergenerational equity.” He rejected the proposal and the amendment in its entirety. With which, simply, nothing was approved.
