The Island Corporation reported yesterday that the trams will circulate during the nights from Friday to Saturday every 30 minutes until 06:00 a.m., while at dawn from Saturday to Sunday, as well as on holidays, the frequency will be 20 minutes , from 00:00 to 01:00 hours, and from 30 minutes until 06:00 hours.

From that moment on, line 1 will continue to operate maintaining the usual daytime frequencies for weekend days, as it has been doing up to now. In other words, on Saturdays line 1 of the tram will operate every 20 minutes between 06:00 and 09:00; every 15 minutes from 09:00 to 10:00 hours and every 10 minutes from 10:00 to 22:00 hours. On Sundays and holidays, the frequencies will be 30 minutes between 06:00 and 09:00 and from 22:00 to 24:00; 20 minutes from 09:00 to 10:00 hours; 15 minutes from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The president of Metrotenerife and vice president of the Insular Corporation, Enrique Arriaga, explains that the measure that will be applied from tonight is due to “the improvement of the epidemiological situation due to coronavirus on the Island and the reactivation of nightlife in the Metropolitan area have conditioned the reactivation of the uninterrupted night service of line 1 ».

For his part, the insular director of Mobility, José Alberto León, recalls that Metrotenerife maintains the cleaning and disinfection protocols established to combat covid in both the cars of the tram network and at stops. Likewise, it insists on reminding users that traveling wearing the mask is still mandatory on public transport. In addition, customers can check the maximum passenger occupancy per unit in real time through the TranviaOnline web application. At the same time, on their social networks (Instagram, Facebook and Twitter @tranviatenerife) they will be able to inform about the schedules and frequencies of the service provided by the tram.
