The Tenerife firefighting services, made up of the Brifor environment brigades and the fire brigade, have managed to control an attempt declared at dawn this Wednesday in Icod el Alto, in the municipality of Los Realejos.
The Cabildo de Tenerife details that the outbreak of fire was declared at 5:50 a.m. and 6,000 square meters of bushes and brambles burned, in a perimeter of about 500 meters on the slope of a ravine, an area with difficult access.
Right now a fire risk alert situation is in force in Gran Canaria above elevation 1,000 in the north of the island, and above elevation 400 in the east, south and west areas.
