SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 27 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Housing of the Government of the Canary Islands has published today on the bulletin board of the Canary Islands Housing Institute (ICAVI) the fifth resolution corresponding to the Youth Rental Bonus helpline, with which you can already pay This aid to 3,591 beneficiaries from all the islands to whom the 21.2 million euros included in this item will be allocated, money that will be distributed to help them pay the rent of their houses for 24 months.

The ICAVI publishes this new resolution after assessing thousands of files and having an item of 10.6 million euros corresponding to the contribution of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda for the year 2023, once the first 10 were committed in 2022, 6 million of this aid.

In 2022, a total of 1,795 young people were beneficiaries of this Youth Bonus who are already receiving the aid of 250 euros per month for 24 months to facilitate the emancipation of young people between 18 and 35 years of age in the Canary Islands. Now, the ICAVI grants in this new resolution to another 1,796 young people who will begin to receive the aid now, but with retroactive effect to the year 2022.

These new beneficiaries will have a subsidy in the 24 months of validity of the aid on a quarterly basis, prior justification of the monthly rent payments for two years, to be applied retroactively from January 1, 2022 or, where appropriate, from the month they started paying rent. At the end of those 24 months of subsidies, the young beneficiaries will have received aid for a value of 6,000 euros to cover part of their rental expenses.

With this help, the Ministry addresses a need that exists in the autonomous community so that young people can emancipate themselves in difficult economic and social moments due to the high rental prices in the real estate market.

As the councilor Sebastián Franquis stated when this aid was presented, the Youth Rental Bonus benefits a sector of the population that is one of the most difficult to find accommodation and is one of those that suffers the worst from the consequences of the economic crisis, therefore, the Ministry considers that this aid will be a key element to increase the levels of emancipation of young people from the Canary Islands.

While the concessions to the new beneficiaries are being processed, incidents may occur that lead to the deregistration of any of the interested parties, so that during the same, new registrations of the petitioners who did not enter into this resolution that is published today may occur, and that would be published in future resolutions.

Those considered as beneficiaries that are published in Annex I of this resolution have 10 business days (until next April 12) to present the supporting documentation, that is, the pending receipts or the Registration to Third Parties. To facilitate these procedures, the ICAVI will send informational messages via SMS and emails to all interested parties.

Those applicants who are pending the status of their aid can check if they are in any of the situations contemplated (beneficiary, requested or rejected) by consulting the new publication on the Notice Board of the Government of the Canary Islands. For any query, the ICAVI maintains two telephone service lines available, through the following telephone numbers: 922 16 57 49 / 928 60 90 14 / 928 11 58 80 / 928 30 10 12 / 922 47 00 12, from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. In turn, the ICAVI technicians have enabled the following email address to receive queries: [email protected]

This aid, which has a global endowment of 21,200,000 euros committed by the State for this and next year, was summoned on August 2 and is intended for people between the ages of 18 and 35 who are holders or are able to to sign a housing or room lease contract in the Canary Islands, and who have a source of income equal to or less than three times the Public Indicator of Multiple Effects Income (IPREM) of 2021, that is, 23,725.80 euros per year .
