The former socialist mayor Patricia Hernández denounced yesterday that the rehabilitation works that are being carried out in 178 buildings distributed by La Salud, Cepsa and Chimisay have not implemented the placement of elevators, as she left prepared with a technical and economic feasibility project. “They will only be posted in the two La Salud buildings that I left signed; the rest, just a few meters away, will not have them. It is cruel and I would say that it is even miserable that, for four bitches, because this is a state program in which the City Council puts 10%, they do not install elevators, when possible, ”she criticized.
The PSOE spokeswoman accused the mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, of acting “deliberately”, insisting that “the only difference between what I left and what they are doing is who signed what.” She indicated that only 32 homes will have an elevator, compared to many families who live trapped in their buildings.
From the City Council, the mayor of Housing, Juan José Martínez, accused Hernández of “bad faith” or “absolute ignorance”, since “it is the neighbors who decide if the elevators are executed or if, on the contrary, they renounce them”, something, the latter that, according to the mayor, some communities have done due to the high cost of maintenance or the reduction of common spaces.
