SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 23 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Highways area, has put out to tender the rehabilitation of the pavement of the TF-662 road, which connects Guaza with Cactus Park, in the municipality of Arona, with a budget of 1,412,102 euros.

The First Vice President and Island Councilor for Highways, Enrique Arriaga, highlighted in a note “the importance of this road as it is an alternative for drivers heading to Los Cristianos from Guaza or La Camella” and assured that “this creates a large traffic daily that has led to the wear and tear of the track”.

For all this, he details that “the work includes not only the rehabilitation and asphalting of the firm, but also the improvement of the drainage elements, the vehicle containment systems and the road control wall.”

Arriaga also recalls that “throughout this mandate, interventions are being made systematically to rehabilitate the insular road network, which was in very poor condition as a result of intense use and poor maintenance, since many roads had been in poor condition for decades those that were not reversed”.

In this sense, the island director of Highways, Tomás Félix García, indicates that “already in 2021 an emergency action had to be taken on a section of this road due to the risk that one of the slopes could collapse and fall on the TF-1 , and now an intervention is being made to improve driving comfort and, what is more important, to increase road safety”.
