The mayor of Güímar, Gustavo Pérez, has ordered the transfer to the Prosecutor’s Office of the alleged contract for the construction of the sanitation network in the Fátima neighborhood, “so that the necessary actions are carried out to elucidate the possible criminal responsibilities” for the alleged falsity of the document that accredits it.
Pérez explained that the representative of the company that was the object of the contract informed the City Council of “aspects unknown” by the Consistory that could constitute criminal offenses. This is the contracting file, on an emergency basis, of the “major work for the construction of the Fátima neighborhood sanitation network”, for 2,742,884 euros. This is stated, the mayor indicated, in the fraudulent decree, apparently, by which the works are attributed to a company, which dates from December 28, 2021.
Gustavo Pérez indicated that, more than a year ago, the existence of this decree was known and that, after an internal investigation and having evidence that the company itself considered it “an innocent”, the non-existence of said contract was concluded.
Likewise, the councilor reiterated that in the file of this work “there is only one minor contract for the drafting of the sanitation project for the Fátima neighborhood, but there is no tender for the execution of the work nor has the Güímar City Council paid money for said execution ”.
