SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 22 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Santa Cruz de Tenerife will host the XVIII Course of the Spanish Society of Pediatric Radiology (SERPE) on May 4 and 5, which is organized by this society and professionals from the Canary Islands University Hospital Complex (HUC), attached to the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands.
The appointment will include the participation of radiologists who will travel from the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, the Vall D’Hebron and Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona, the La Paz University Hospital, the Niño Jesús Children’s University Hospital and the Gregorio Marañón General University Hospital in Madrid, Maternal and Child Hospital and Regional University Hospital of Malaga, Virgen del Rocío University Hospital of Seville and La Fe University and Polytechnic Hospital of Valencia, as well as professionals from reference hospitals in the Canary Islands.
The topics will be addressed in several tables related to the neonatal, cardiology and thorax block. This edition also includes updated presentations on neonatal hips, benign bone lesions with an aggressive appearance in Magnetic Resonance, imaging and updating of growth cartilage, pathology of minors arriving by boat, pediatric oncology and cerebral venous thrombosis.
There will also be a lecture on the usefulness of 3D technology in pediatric radiology, among others. The meeting will be held at the Adán Martín Auditorium in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The HUC radiologist and president of the Organizing Committee and SERPE, Dr. Juan Antonio Hernández Ponce, has pointed out that this course “is a great opportunity, since it will have leading radiologists from all over the national scene and from the Canary Islands, something that It is difficult many times due to the distance.”
SPANISH SOCIETY OF PEDIATRIC RADIOLOGY (SERPE)
The Spanish Society of Pediatric Radiology brings together all those radiologists with special dedication or particular interest in diagnostic imaging in the pediatric age. In addition to being a subsidiary of SERAM (Spanish Society of Medical Radiology), SERPE has a special link with the Spanish Association of Pediatrics (AEP), forming part of the specialty societies, along with the rest of the pediatric specialties.
The SERPE has among its objectives to promote the development of pediatric radiology in all its aspects, from fetal life to adolescence, defend the rights and attributions of diagnostic imaging in the pediatric age, propose guidelines in the field of pediatric radiology and of radiological protection and collaborate in improving the scientific, teaching and care level of pediatric radiology.
