CC accuses Pedro Martín of making a proposal to the ULL that he rejected a few months ago

The candidate of the Canary Islands Coalition for the Cabildo de Tenerife, Rosa Dávila, has pointed out that Pedro Martín and the PSOE “arrive late” to the solutions to alleviate traffic on the TF-5 and recalls that the proposal to change the schedules of the University of La Laguna was already made by the nationalist group a few months ago and was rejected by the government group.

“The proposal should have been made four years ago and not now, two months before the elections. Pedro Martín continues to be late for the problems of Tenerife,” said Rosa Dávila, who reiterated that the ULL time change is a of the measures they have proposed, but “it must be completed with other actions such as the promotion of public transport”.

For this, he sees the flexible BUS-VAO project of the TF-5 between Valle de La Orotava and the metropolitan area as essential: “Until it is finished, it is necessary to expand a third lane, in the direction of the metropolitan area from Guamasa to Tenerife North Airport, with the remodeling of its accesses”.

Likewise, Dávila pointed out that they have also proposed other initiatives such as dissuasive parking, promoting mobility through school transport with the support of the Ten+ bonus system and the increase in diagnostic tests in order to avoid displacements. “The collapse of the roads is not solved with a single measure, but with a set of actions that change the mobility model towards a more sustainable island,” he remarked.

For his part, the nationalist spokesman, Carlos Alonso, recalls that the PSOE “only gets it right when it rectifies” and, according to what he said, “now they come to agree with us with a measure that we proposed months ago and which, absurdly, they voted against” . Alonso added that this was one of the partial amendments that CC-PNC presented to the 2023 budget -specifically it was number 14- with the aim of improving traffic on the TF-5. “In the absence of his own ideas, Pedro Martín now copies us and proposes the same, but with a delay.”
