The secretary of the Gomera Socialist Association (ASG) Board of Directors, Yaiza Castilla, has communicated to the party’s general secretary, Casimiro Curbelo, her intention not to stand in the next local and regional elections to be held next May “after of a profound process of personal reflection”.
The also Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the regional Government has also transferred her decision to the President of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, to whom she has communicated her intention to end the current legislature “in coherence with the commitment that I acquired when I took office “. “Once the legislature ends, I will face new personal and professional challenges,” said Castilla.

Yaiza Castilla (San Sebastián de La Gomera, July 5, 1984) graduated in Law from the University of La Laguna. She was a senator for La Gomera representing ASG, from December 2015 to July 2019. In July 2019 she took office as Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands.
