
The Tenerife tram will resume from early morning on Friday to Saturday on night service uninterrupted between 00.00 and 06.00 hours during the weekends in the line 1. The frequencies will be 20 and 30 minutes at dawn on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
The insular counselor for Mobility and president of Metrotenerife, Enrique Arriaga, explained that the improvement in the epidemiological situation due to coronavirus on the island and the reactivation of nightlife in the metropolitan area have conditioned the reactivation of the uninterrupted night service on line 1.
In that sense, he pointed out that the trams will circulate every 30 minutes from Friday to Saturday until 06:00 a.m. and in the early mornings from Saturday to Sunday, as well as on holidays, the frequency will be 20 minutes, from 00:00 to 01:00, and from 30 minutes until 06.00 hours. Subsequently, line 1 will operate with the usual daytime frequencies for weekend days as it has been doing up to now.
For his part, the insular director of Mobility, José Alberto León, recalled that Metrotenerife maintains daily cleaning and disinfection protocols both in trams and at stops and insisted that the use of the mask is still mandatory in public transport.
