SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 15 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The businessman Marco Antonio Navarro Tacoronte, known as the “mediator” of the alleged corruption and extortion plot that bears the same name, has assured this Wednesday that the president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, was aware of “everything” that was happening around this alleged criminal plot.
This has been stated in statements to the media, just after an extraordinary plenary session of the Cabildo in which the possible involvement of the Corporation in the case has been discussed, at the request of the Nationalist Group, and which has had the presence, among the public, by Navarro Tacoronte himself.
In his speech, the president of the Cabildo has underestimated the contacts maintained with the businessman and has again denied the involvement of the Corporation in the ‘Meditor case’. In addition, he has wondered “where is the plot” in the Cabildo if there is no one investigated – although there is a separate piece open–.
Navarro Tacoronte has called everything said by the president “shameful” and admitted that he expected him to recognize “the truth of everything.” He also assured that the president of the Cabildo has known him “since 2015, 2016” and criticized that he now “gets through” the Guía de Isora councilor when “he was the one who was with me.”
The ‘mediator’ stated that he has also met with Pedro Martín in the Cabildo to tell him “everything that was happening” and that, therefore, he was already aware of the case. For this reason, he assures that the president is lying when he says that there has never been a political relationship between them, and warns that now “the WhatsApps” that both maintained will come out.
Although he does not remember the exact date of said meeting, he did assure that it was before the complaint by the former island director of Sports, Ángel Pérez, and that during it he warned him of the “deal” that was going to be done with a mobility plan in Güímar, criticizing that Pedro Martín did not take action until a year later, when the island director was fired.
“He is going to have to prove that it is a lie,” said the businessman, who wondered “where is” the complaint that the president of the Cabildo was going to file against him. “He was going to sue for the dogs. The dogs I have are the animals from here,” said Navarro Tacoronte, while pointing his finger at the Corporation.
“The one who has to be worried is him, not me. I am already in a cause. He must be worried now. He does have to be afraid,” warned the ‘mediator’, who urged the president of the Cabildo to ask the former insular director of Sports to find out why.
