The government group is studying increasing surveillance and cleaning on the three beaches of La Orotava (El Ancón, El Bollullo and The Ducks) before the summer, a measure that must be approved by the plenary session of the municipal Corporation.
In addition, as the Councilor for Land Management and Planning, Narciso Pérez, recalled, in the last plenary session, some provisional measures will be taken to avoid traffic jams, agreed with the residents, as happened last summer, in which it was designed a circular route between the path of La Cisterna and El Ancón.
“The system is designed and will be put into practice again until the Consortium establishes the pending measures to be executed on the beach; In the same way, instructions will be given to the local Police so that, if necessary, they close the access road to El Bollullo ”, he specified.
And it is that the good weather triggered the number of users over the weekend, especially on Los Patos beach, which has reopened to the public with a new access after 10 years closed due to the risk of landslides.
The high influx of public left an unedifying image as the beach still lacks such basic services as litter bins.
The Consistory recalls that, as it is a protected area, any action must be regulated by the Consortium, a public body created to manage actions in the area, as contemplated in the Special Plan approved in 1997 and of which they are a part he Government of the Canary Islandsthe Cabildo, the City Council, owners, neighbors and the El Rincón Coordinator.
In this sense, the councilor criticized the “inaction” of this entity, which “has done absolutely nothing in the last four years.”
