The success of the initiative Santa Cruz Consumer Bonds In 2022, its impact on the city amounted to 1.2 million, with 700 companies benefiting and reaching 18,000 consumers.
With this background, the Santa Cruz City Hall yesterday presented the third edition of this project, promoted by the Federation of Urban Areas of the Canary Islands (Fauca), with which, on the 31st, 38,950 consumer bonds will be put up for sale distributed among the three modalities, which are the commercial ones (32,800), restaurants (4,100) and accommodation (2,050).
Since yesterday, establishments interested in participating in this third edition can already register on the website www.bonoconsumosantacruz.com, the same one where the titles can be purchased from the 31st, so that the first day of exchange will coincide with the celebration of Full Moon, on April 1, and the last one will be on November 15.
The main difference with the previous edition is that the City Council subsidy goes from 50% to 40%, “with the aim of being able to issue a greater number of bonds with the budget that the Consistory allocates to this initiative, and which is 410,000 euros”, explained the Councilor for Economic Promotion, Alfonso Cabello.
Thus, it will be possible to acquire both the trade and restaurant vouchers for a price of 15 euros, which will have a real value of 25. The accommodation vouchers can be purchased for 30 euros and their real value will be 50.
In this edition, the active tourism companies that were included in the accommodation bonus are left out. In order for the benefits of the vouchers to be distributed equally among all participating establishments, a limit of 4,000 euros for redemption has been established for each establishment, each establishment informing the count of vouchers redeemed on the official website.
The distribution by districts of the commercial bonds is also maintained, that is, the titles can only be exchanged in those districts for which they are specifically purchased, while those for restaurants and accommodation can be consumed at any point in the municipality.
Consumers
The City Council recalls that on the consumer side, each person will be able to buy a maximum of four vouchers from each category, for a total of 12. As in the previous edition, the wallet option will be maintained, which allows them to be spent progressively.
In the presentation, the mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, pointed out that “the initiative affects three key sectors of Santa Cruz, the commercial, tourist and restaurant sectors, which generate up to 30% of the contracts and, therefore, , have a direct relationship with the generation of employment in the municipality”.
In addition, he added that “this third edition is preceded by the success of the previous one, which in its first week sold out 83% of the available vouchers and once the campaign ended it managed to sell out 100%, benefiting more than 400 companies and more than 6,400 buyers”.
