La Orotava honors its first Local Police

He Noble Hall of the Town Hall of La Orotava hosted this week an act of homage to Maria Caridad Oliva Monasteryknown as Cari, who at the age of 24, in the year 1982, became the first woman in the history of the town to access the body of the Local police. In his opinion, it is a well-deserved tribute for his courage and for the multiple values ​​that he has shown in all areas, overcoming any barrier.

His daughter Loretoalso a local police officer, says that her mother has always been “a reference point”, both for her and for her two sisters, and she remembers, when she was a girl, the entire preparation process she went through to enter the police force. Linares and Belen Gonzalez they assured that Charity Monastery She is “an example for many women, a benchmark as a fighting and groundbreaking woman.” For Linares, “being a policewoman 40 years ago was almost impossible, and you did it by fighting all the obstacles. For this, and for your tenacity, loyalty and constant improvement, you receive this emotional and well-deserved tribute.”
