the silhouette of Teide It is an image that the Canaries know well, but more and more tourists are focusing on the volcano at the moment it appears in any frame. Snowy, alienated with the moon, with a sun of justice, with a characteristic little hat,… It doesn’t matter the situation that surrounds the highest peak in Spain that the result is usually the beauty summarized in a photo.
It is also the center of the objective of professionals and photography lovers, which reflect the exceptional nature of Tenerife’s National Park like no other. In fact, one of these images has recently been the object of admiration, due to the perfect moment captured by the lens of the Canarian astrophotographer Gustavo Medina.
Held on March 6 from Los Ajache, in Yaiza, photography falls in love as soon as you see it. A sunset, the silhouette of two people walking and the Teide in the background is the result of Medina’s work.
The job
Medina explains that “behind this photograph there is not only prior planning and many attempts due to the enormous difficulty to be able to observe Teide from Lanzarote” and adds that “there is also a great feeling of pride” because he has been in the same place in Los Ajaches with his grandfather, who was the one who taught him from where you can see it.
The photographer has been able to “show Teide from Lanzarote from different places and perspectives”, like other photographers in recent years but his greatest pride has been to be able to “show the imposing silhouette of Teide from Lanzarote” with his two daughters. The snapshot is loaded with sentiment and symbolism because he has passed on to his daughters what previous generations of his family passed on to him: “That Teide can be seen at times from some areas of Lanzarote despite its distance.”
