Tenerife tram workers announce new strikes at rush hour



The strike committee of the Tenerife Tram agrees to carry out stoppages at rush hour in the morning starting Monday. Between March 13 and 31, the strike will take place in the section that goes from 7.02 to 8.47 in the morning on weekdays.

The company that manages this service, and which depends on the Cabildo de Tenerife, has informed in a note that the strike committee has notified the aforementioned modification of the strike calendar for this month of March.

In this way, starting Monday and until the end of the month, the strike will be held every weekday at the peak of the service, Metrotenerife emphasizes.

It adds that during these stoppage hours the tram will continue to operate with the minimum services decreed at 90%, and once this period is over the lines will resume the usual frequency again.

He adds that the strike lasts approximately two hours and that it only takes place on weekdays.

The new strike schedule from March 13 to 31 is as follows:

– March, days 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31. Strike hours: from 07:02 to 08:47 hours. Minimum Services of 90%.

The total schedule of strikes announced by the strike committee for the months of April and May remains unchanged, which are:

– April, days 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28. Strike hours: from 10:05 to 12 :05 and from 4:05 p.m. to 5:55 p.m.

– May, days 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 29 and 31. Strike hours: from 09 :45 to 11:45 a.m. and from 3:55 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

In the communiqué Metrotenerife apologizes to the users of the tram service for the delays and inconvenience caused as a result of this strike.
