SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 8 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Mobility area, has put out to tender a project to install 50 new canopies at the bus stops with the greatest influx of people with the aim of continuing to adapt the network of stops and access to public transport.

The First Vice President and Insular Councilor for Mobility, Enrique Arriaga, explained that they have detected that the beneficiaries of the shelters that currently exist are 83% of the users, since not the entire network of bus stops has them.

Arriaga assured that this project “will promote the safety of both people and vehicles and will increase the comfort of users, with special attention to accessibility.”

In addition, he pointed out that 229,766 euros will be allocated to carry out these works that will provide 50 stops with prefabricated canopies with a metal structure, glass side panels, a roof, steel seats with armrests, ischial supports and litter bins.

“From the Mobility area, we continue to work every day to improve the quality of the service and with these canopies users will be more protected and more comfortable, which will make the waiting time for the arrival of public transport more pleasant,” said the counselor. .

The insular director of Mobility, José Alberto León, explained that the works will be carried out throughout the entire island, covering the municipalities of Adeje, Arafo, El Tanque, Los Silos, San Juan de la Rambla and Santa Úrsula, where the a canopy on each; Buenavista del Norte, Candelaria, Guía de Isora, La Orotava and Tegueste, with two interventions respectively; Arona, Granadilla de Abona, Puerto de la Cruz and Santa Cruz, with three new canopies in each municipality; five facilities in Tacoronte and thirteen in La Laguna.
