Franquet criticizes the “occultism” in the management of Hogar Santa Rita

The insular councilor for Social Action and president of the IASS, Marián Franquet, assured yesterday that “occultism, misinformation and non-transparency are being a constant in the management of the Santa Rita Home And that makes you suspicious.”

He denied that the Island Corporation “wants to carry out a coup and keep the residence.” On the contrary, he made it clear that the sole objective of being part of the Board “is to guarantee the proper management of an important resource for Tenerife”.

Franquet made these statements to Cope Tenerife when asked about the situation of the workers at the center, located in Puerto de la Cruz, who have not received their payroll this month either. From the management of the center they point out that this is due to a delay on the part of the IASS in paying the places that it has arranged.

However, Franquet explains that all the entities with which the Cabildo de Tenerife works “have the forecast to cover the main expenses; in fact, they have bank policies that allow them to advance the money” until the corresponding item arrives, which, in this specific case, will be in the next few days.

“Something is happening so that the banks do not give Santa Rita a bank policy. There is not much explanation for that I do not have money, because, in addition, they have other income, since there are private patients who pay for their places, and they also have income from municipalities and donations, ”he added.

However, he clarified that none of this could be guaranteed, because there was no access to the information, by denying the Cabildo entry to the Board of Trustees. “They have flatly told us no,” he stressed.

They have also been told that “they don’t accept something as simple as having detailed accounting or that we can do more rigorous quality inspections. It is simply having the will to be transparent to guarantee that things are being done correctly”, he added.
