The village mayor, Francisco Linares (CC)and the mayor of Services and Works, Yurena Luis (CC), presented today at a press conference the assessment of this plan that has had its most expensive actions on the La Luz highway and the roads of the San Jerónimo industrial and commercial estate, with a combined value that has exceeded one million euros. The president also wanted to recognize the management carried out by the mayor of Urbanism, Narciso Perez (CC)who could not attend the event.
“We have a municipality of 210 square kilometerswith some thirty neighborhoods and approximately 1,800 streets», stressed Linares. The 80 improved streets now represent a milestone in local history, “since never before had so many roads been intervened.” Despite having record numbers, the mayor acknowledged that “it would have been more if in 2020 we had not faced Covid and Ertes. Regarding the future, Linares stressed that “the next corporation of the next term 2023-2027 will have to address three priorities that are still pending: the improvement of the 6.5 kilometer section that is missing on the TF-21 highway, in the high ones; finish the remaining streets of the San Jerónimo industrial estate, and attend to the twenty streets that still require urgent action”.
The Orotava City Council also allocated its own resources more than 300,000 euros to the Municipal Accessibility Plan.
