SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 6 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The General Directorate for Research and Coordination of Sustainable Development of the Government of the Canary Islands has organized face-to-face gastronomic workshops during this month of March in order to promote sustainable habits in island restaurants within a comprehensive commitment to sustainability, as contemplated in the Agenda Canary 2030.
The initiative is part of a project consisting of the preparation of a ‘Guide to Good Sustainable Practices in the Gastronomy of the Canary Islands’, which is promoted by the General Directorate, and the appointments will take place on seven islands starting this Wednesday, on the island of Gran Canaria.
With the title ‘Gastronomy and its promotion of the Canarian Agenda for Sustainable Development 2030’, the regional government intends to incorporate good environmental practices in the catering activity on the islands, which is increasingly thriving and prestigious inside and outside the Canary Islands.
Like the guide, this initiative will serve to identify, disseminate and give visibility to good practices that, from gastronomy and all the activities that encompass it, can promote the implementation of the Canarian Agenda 2030, details the general direction directed by David Padrón in a note.
The first workshop will take place this Wednesday in Gran Canaria, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Agricultural Training Center, located in Arucas. For Friday, March 10, it is planned to transfer the experience to El Hierro, precisely to the El Mocanal cultural center, in Valverde, and with the same hours (from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.).
The workshops will continue on March 13 in Tenerife, with the same hours and in the Adán Martín room, at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands in the capital of Tenerife.
On March 15 (Wednesday) it will be the turn of La Gomera, with the same time slot and at the Cruz Chiquita Nursery, in the capital of Isla Colombina (San Sebastián de La Gomera).
For its part, the activity will take to Fuerteventura the following day (Thursday, March 16), with the same time slot and at the Puerto del Rosario Teachers’ Center, in the Majorera capital.
The following day (Friday, March 17), the experience will take place in Lanzarote, in the Sala Comisiones II, in Arrecife, while La Palma will host it on Monday the 20th at the Andares cultural center, in Villa de Mazo.
