Filming of the series on the life of Camilo Sesto begins in Tenerife

Other filming you choose Tenerife. This week, and in locations in the municipality of Tacoronte, the ATRESplayer Premium platform began filming what will be the new series about the life of the well-remembered singer Camilo Sesto.

Entitled Camilo Superstar, it portrays a specific moment in the life of Camilo Sesto: when in the 1970s he took the risk of bringing the musical Jesus Christ Superstar to Spain. Filming in interior locations in Tacoronte began last Wednesday and filming will remain on the Island for a few weeks. The team has also already passed through venues in Madrid and Albacete.

Actors from this new series have shared some of the activities that are taking place these days on the Island. This is the case of Adrián Lastra, for example, who showed through his Instagram profile one of his lunches in a guachinche in La Matanza. Accompanied by the interpreter Vito Sanz, he enjoyed one of the most popular dishes in this type of establishment: an escaldón. Pepe Ocio also showed some images of the beautiful patios of the lagoon mansions.

The young Galician actor Alejandro Jato will be in charge of playing Camilo Sesto in the series, whose premiere date is still unknown. It is a production of Buendía Estudios Canary Islands with the collaboration of Atresmedia Televisión that will have four episodes. Montse García, Sonia Martínez and Curro Novallas are the executive producers of the series, which has Tatiana Rodríguez in charge of the script. Ana Rocha directs the production and Jon Aguirresarobe is the Director of Photography. The main cast of the series is completed by Adrián Lastra, Natalia Reyes, Pepe Ocio, Javier Godino, Vito Sanz, Oscar de la Fuente and the special collaboration of Eugenia Silva and Elena Rivera. Juan León has been the casting director.

This filming is in addition to the one that started on the Island last month, when Fer García-Ruiz brought the film I Hate Summer to Tenerife, a production by Telecinco Cinema, Mono Pictures and Sony Pictures that will be released at the end of the year.
