The CC-PNC group in the Cabildo de Tenerife focuses its ten proposals to the plenary on the State of the Island Debate, next Friday, March 3, on improving care for people, especially the most vulnerable, within the social sphere, and mobility in the island geography.
The candidate of Canarian Coalition to preside over the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, defends the increase in resources to reduce the waiting list, “the largest in the Archipelago”, and “the promotion of employment for the most disadvantaged groups. The insular spokesman, Carlos Alonso points out that “Support for SMEs and the self-employed, tourism, the primary sector, improvement in immigration and animal welfare are also among the main resolution proposals.”
These also include care for the elderly, access to housing, measures related to tourism, improvement of mental health -with special attention to young people- or attention to gender violence.
Dávila points out that among the measures of a social nature are the recovery of Ansina and the promotion of the Socio-Health Infrastructure Plan. In mobility, he explains that “the bet must be free public transport as long as the economic crisis situation continues.” He sees the need for the HOV-bus for the TF-5 and is in favor of “sustainable alternatives” in guided transport to the North and South to establish a metro network with the metropolitan area.
In Employment, Dávila points out that the proposal is to “launch more active policies with special attention to groups such as women, young people, people over 45 and people with disabilities” and increase aid to SMEs and the self-employed.
For his part, Carlos Alonso insists on facilitating access to housing for young people. As for tourism, he advocates the reactivation of the Puerto de la Cruz Urban Rehabilitation Consortium “forgotten and mistreated by the PSOE the last four years.”
Alonso proposes a great Island Pact for Sustainability with four pillars: waste, sustainable mobility, renewable energy and hydraulic resources.
