SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 24 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands, Alicia Vanoostende, said this Friday that the Government of the Canary Islands was not aware of the ins and outs of the ‘Mediator case’.
“We were not aware of anything,” he commented, stressing that it is also a “lie” that there is a “complaint” from an official about the processing of some files or that the mediator, Marco Antonio Navarro, had an office at the headquarters of the Counseling.
“It is solemn nonsense,” he added, emphasizing that the mediator “can lie to cover his back,” he has pointed out in parliamentary commission to questions from the Popular and Nationalist groups.
He has also said that so far they have not detected “irregularities” in the management of European aid for livestock and he sees it as unlikely due to the exhaustive “controls” that are carried out.
