The Azorín Neighborhood Association denounces the appearance, once again, of mattresses in different parts of the neighborhood, where homeless people spend the night. Last Sunday they had to notify the firefighters after one of these mattresses burned in the back of the premises of the Neighborhood Association. Precisely, from the entity they remember that they have already addressed the City Council to put a solution to the surroundings of the neighborhood premises, whose fences continuously jump to sleep in the vicinity, where these people also relieve themselves.

The Azorín board of directors went to the Public Services area requesting that the height of the fence be raised to prevent them from jumping inside. “The answer we received is that there was no budget.”

The association adds to their complaint what they consider the abandonment of the Manuel Castañeda park, for whose improvement they have been struggling for years. Its main demand in this sense is that its fencing be carried out, in a similar way to how it has been done with that of Secundino Delgado, so that it can be closed at night, and thus avoid being used as another point of overnight stay. homeless people who come to the Municipal Reception Center and are left without a place to sleep in it. This arrangement also involves the improvement of green and children’s areas.
