SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 18 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Civil Guard, within the framework of the fight and reprehension of the consumption and possession of narcotic substances, has recently carried out numerous inspections in public establishments in several municipalities in the north of Tenerife, in prevention of the possession and consumption of drugs in bars, cafeterias and premises in which, in addition, proper compliance with the applicable legislation has been audited.
During the inspections, the Civil Guard agents have arrested a 45-year-old man, a resident of the municipality of La Victoria, as the alleged perpetrator of a drug trafficking crime when he was surprised by the agents while carrying out a retail drug transaction with other person, seizing among his belongings and clothing various doses of cocaine and more than 700 euros in cash divided into different bills.
In addition, the agents also seized multiple doses of drugs from other customers of bars and cafeterias, for which they filed the corresponding administrative complaints for the various offenses of possession/use of narcotic substances, as well as the owners of establishments for offenses established in Law 7/2011, on classified activities and public shows, and Law 28/2005, on sanitary measures against smoking.
These actions are due to the continuous exercise that the Civil Guard has been carrying out in matters of citizen security and crime prevention to deal with the trafficking and consumption of narcotics.
The searches have been carried out by units of the Civil Guard of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Command, specifically by the Posts of Icod de los Vinos, La Orotava, La Victoria de Acentejo and Tacoronte; Also counting on the support of canine handlers specialists in drug detection from the Cynological Service of the Civil Guard.
