After a day marked by snow and cold, thousands of canaries face a carnival weekend with the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife de mogollones, just like in The Gran Canarian palms which will also vibrate with the final of murgas. And the question that many have is the following. Will disconnection and reset respect time for a new work week? The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued its weather forecasts for this weekend in which the rain may once again dampen the fun of the people.

This FridayFebruary 17, cloudy skies in the north of Gran Canaria and Tenerifewhere rains are not ruled out that can fall in the form of showers during the second half of the day, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency. It can also rain, even with some force, in Lanzaroteall with slightly rising temperatures.

For him Saturday18, the state agency already paints a less bleak picture for the gracefulLanzarote and Fuerteventurawhich could receive occasional rainfall, while in Gran Canaria and Tenerife showers can still fall on their northern slopes in the first half of the day, and the south and southeast in the central hours, but with temperatures with little change or a slight rise , and a light to moderate north-northwest wind that will be less intense throughout the Las Palmas province.

Already for the day of Sundayday 19, the possibility of new precipitations is reduced, in any case weak and occasional, with temperatures with few changes, and the presence of a probable light haze staining the skies of the easternmost islands of the Canary archipelago.

Snow in Gran Canaria (02/16/23)

snow day

the summit of Gran Canaria dawned this Thursday in North Pole format, with a layer of snow between two and six inches thick which, together with the pine forest and the first rays of sun that filtered through the tops, drew that kind of magical landscape that gives the archipelago the nickname of lucky, not in vain from the highest point of the round island, just opposite, the polar plane was topped off with a Teide just as captivating dressed all in white, making a region for the weather track. With those first lights of the day, the streaks trapped between the branches and also those hidden between the cracks of the teniques became transparent. The icicles that acted like crystal tendrils dangling from the broom, the elbows and the brooms completed the picture. Pure spectacle of white on picón.

The ‘pole’ itself was drawn in a not very large circle, but it extended from about two kilometers above the crossing of Llanos de La Pez and Well of Snows upwards, and which reached cracks at low levels, such as in the vicinity of the Caldera de Los Marteles.
