He Canarian Institute of Hemodonation and Hemotherapy (ICHH)a public body attached to the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islandshas launched the special campaign of carnival ¨If you have carnival in your blood, what are you waiting for to donate it?”, an initiative that seeks to ensure that blood donations do not decrease during the carnival period, since hospital needs remain the same.
The campaign will be broadcast on social networks and, in addition, to facilitate donations over the next few days, the ICHH will reinforce its campaigns on Gran Canaria like in Tenerife.
In Gran Canaria, this Saturday an ICHH unit will be located in the San Telmo Park, in front of the Military Palace, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. For its part, in Tenerife you can donate blood, also on Saturday, at the San Isidro Health Center, in Granadilla, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and in the Plaza de la Catedral in La Laguna from 9:00 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.
The ICHH recalls that blood and platelet donations are reduced during carnivals, a seasonal period that is added to times such as Christmas, summer and other bridges of the year. Thus, from the ICHH it is recommended to go to donate blood before the days holidaysas a preventive measure before the carnival bridge.
