Thousands of devotees met this Wednesday with the annual appointment with Sor María de Jesús, popularly known as La Siervita, the nun whose incorrupt body is found in the convent of Santa Catalina, in The lagoon. From the Bishopric of Tenerife explain that Sister María de Jesús born in 1643 in El Sauzal. “After various personal vicissitudes, he ended up in La Laguna, where he entered the convent of Santa Catalina de Siena,” they add. After many years of stay in the convent, he passed away on February 15, 1731. “The state of his body, considered incorrupt, has been taken as a hypothetical sign of sanctity,” he stated.
The doors of the church of the convent of Las Catalinas opened from 6:00 a.m. and it was planned that visits could be made until 8:00 p.m. Those who could not attend yesterday will have a new opportunity on sunday.
